We've tried to think of everything so you don't have to ask.
Below you'll find directions, the Wifi password, and quick notes on the kitchen, laundry, and heat — everything to make the cottage feel like yours during your stay.
Arrival and Access
The property is located at 9 Beech Street, Camden, Maine. Look for the shingled-house with a green porch and fenced-in yard. Parking for up to two cars is in the gravel driveway next to the house.
Check-in is between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. If you need to arrive outside this window, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.
You’ll receive the code to the front door via Airbnb before your arrival.
House Rules
Primary guest must be 25 or older, with a valid government ID.
4 guests maximum (unless otherwise approved).
Our neighborhood is quiet and residential. Please respect quiet hours between 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM.
No events, parties, or gatherings beyond the registered guests.
No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors.
No illegal substances anywhere on the property.
Please remove your shoes while inside. (Use the boot tray in the mudroom for easy storage.)
Please take care of the furnishings; guests are responsible for any damage.
Please don't rearrange the furniture.
During the winter months (November - March), please don't set the thermostat below 65°F.
If traveling with pets:
Dogs must be leashed outside the fenced yard.
Please clean up after them on the property!
Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture.
Never leave a pet unattended outside when you are not at the property, even in the fenced yard.
Checking Out
Please plan to check out by 12:00 PM on the final day of your stay. Before you go, please:
Gather used towels and place them in the tub or shower.
No need to strip the bed linens or start any laundry.
Close all windows and ensure all doors are locked.
Lock the front door and send us a message when you’re on your way!

While we sincerely hope you’re here to relax and unplug, there is a dedicated desk and workspace. (As a bonus, the desk nook provides excellent background views for your Zoom meetings.)
Appliances and Utilities
Heating and Cooling
Primary heating and cooling is via the heat pump unit in the living room. The remote is located on the wall by the light switch. We’ve found it works best when set to either “heat” or “cool” settings (not auto). “Dry” also works well when it’s humid or raining outside. Set the temperature to one that works best for you! In the winter months, please do not turn off the heat pump or set it below 65°F.
In the summer months, we also have window AC units installed in both upstairs bedrooms. We find that we very rarely need these, as evenings in Maine are quite cool, but they’re here for you to use as needed!
For additional heat (and cozy ambiance) any time of year, the propane stove is in the living room. Use the black remote, also located on the wall by the light switch to power on. You can adjust the temperature, heat and blower settings from this remote as well. Turn the stove off before leaving the house.
Please ensure that both remotes are kept in their locations on the wall at all times.
Laundry
A full size washer and dryer are located in the mudroom, along with a drying rack and detergent. The dryer works best on the 60-minute timed setting (rather than a sensor setting). If needed, there’s also a clothes steamer located in the mudroom.
Kitchen
The kitchen has a gas range and stove, dishwasher and microwave (located in the pantry).
For coffee and tea, you’ll find everything you need in the middle drawer to the left of the stove. To use the drip coffee machine:
Fill the water reservoir with cold water, between the "2 Cup" and "MAX" lines.
Put a paper filter (No. 4 cone) in the brew basket and add ground coffee — about 1 scoop per cup. Close the basket lid.
Make sure the carafe is seated on the base.
Press the OXO button once (or twist the dial) to open the cup-setting menu.
Twist the dial left for 2–4 cups or right for 5–9 cups, then press the OXO button to start brewing.
Wait for the brewing icon to change to the "done" icon — coffee's ready!
Remove the carafe and pour. You don't need to unscrew the lid.
A few notes: it won't brew fewer than 2 cups, and if a red warning light comes on it usually means the water reservoir is empty.
Amenities
There are extra sets of clean towels and sheets. Sheets for each bedroom are stored in the dresser in the main bedroom.
Traveling with Kids?
If you let us know in advance, we’ll have the Pack ‘n Play set up for you. If it’s not set up, you can find it (and the mattress) in the downstairs closet (off the office). The mattress protector and sheets are in the dresser in the main bedroom.
Children’s silicone dinnerware is in a clear bin in the pantry.
The Stokke high chair will be in the kitchen if you’ve let us know you’d like it out before your arrival. Otherwise, you’ll also find this in downstairs closet off the office.
Toys and books for little kids (ages 0-2) are in the chest/coffee table in the living room. In the cupboard in the second bedroom upstairs, you’ll also find puzzles and some other games.
All bath toys are sanitized before your stay, These are in a basket on the shelf in the downstairs bathroom.
Beach Gear
There are beach towels (blue and white striped) in a basket in the mudroom. Please do not use the white bath towels for the beach. If you anticipate needing anything else (beach chairs, toys for sandcastle building, or an umbrella), please let us know before your stay, and we’ll have them ready for you on arrival.
Books
Some of our favorite, well-loved reads are on the bookshelf in the upstairs bedroom. Enjoy them at the house or the beach! Please just return them before your stay ends.
Trash and Recycling
Trash and recycling are picked up weekly on Thursdays. If you find you need to empty the bins during your stay, please place all bags securely in the large trash and recycling bins located in the shed between pickups.
If you’d like to experience the Midcoast Solid Waste Transfer Station (and the infamous Swap Shop, open during the summer), you can take your own trash and recycling out (you do not need a sticker for this):

Recycling must be sorted if taking it on your own. Trash will need to be bagged in yellow bags, located under the kitchen sink.
Safety and Emergency Info
Fire Extinguishers are located under the kitchen sink and in the mudroom
The First Aid Kit is also located on the shelf in the mudroom
There are carbon monoxide alarm & smoke detectors throughout the house, as well as natural gas detectors in the living room and kitchen. (Please do not tamper with or remove any of these.)
If you’re traveling with young children, we can provide outlet covers.
